Qi Flow in Winter : Keeping Spirits High

Posted by Emma Leafe on

WINTER : This most Yin season of all, with a total shedding, a dying off reflected in nature, as we hurtle towards the blackest point in the calendar ... the Winter Solstice on the 21st of December. In retraction our Qi flows more deeply inside us. This season's depth beckons connection to the core. Reaching into what we deeply repress. Winter typically aligns with less activity ... although seasonal celebrations counter this with added bright stimulation and excitement, for which you may seek respite. For many, the energy of Winter can easily spiral into depression. Yet the opportunity exists to feel relief of stimulus and instead pause to explore deeply within

Uplift your Spirit with ABYDOS : Pure Frankincense Incense Sticks

Frankincense holds within it many supportive compounds, such as Boswellic acids, that have been studied to effectively prevent particular enzymes from negatively affecting DNA. Science is just realising this, however the efficacy of frankincense has been know and past down by word of mouth, for thousands of years. There is a reason at this time of year, the Magi, were famously documented as giving the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to Mary and Joseph for the arrival of the new prophet

As well as an effective wound healing substance (what the tree itself actually uses it for), Frankincense Boswellia, helps to rebalance stress hormones throughout the body - such as cortisol. The scent travels directly to the brain via the olfactory system, thus calming the body immediately. That is why scent is so powerful - no other of our bodily systems channel directly to the brain tissues, as molecules travelling as scent do. Breathing in such a magical substance as 100% natural Frankincense (Boswellia) is pure medicine of the highest, most natural order. Our natural incense sticks, Abydos, are made from pure ground Boswellia Carterii and we also stock the pure resin 'tears' Boswellia Sacra, harvested from the Dhofar region of Oman. Small pieces of this can be chewed, so the elixir can be absorbed into the body that way too. This is especially powerful for throat or teeth issues - also stomach. Small pieces make a wonderful healing tea - just add a little hot water to a small pea sized piece. Allowing it to steep for 5 minutes or so
