WHAT IS THE BEST INCENSE FOR MEDITATION?

Meditation is a means of training the mind to develop focus, clarity, a calm attitude to all things and emotional positivity. There are many ways to practice meditation and often this includes the burning of incense. Sandalwood and Frankincense are used in Traditional Medicine to lower states of depression, stress and anxiety, also to activate the third eye chakra

HOW TO USE INCENSE FOR MEDITATION

Some practitioners burn incense during meditation and others recommend burning beforehand in order to purify the air in the room, as burning specific herbs, woods, and resins often contain medicinal properties to cleanse the space and induce a state of well-being. If you decide to burn incense while meditating, ensure you do so in a well-ventilated room, ideally it should be two or more meters away so you don't inhale the smoke directly. The scent can then create a calming environment for your practice

WHICH INGREDIENTS CAN PROMOTE THIS MEDITATIVE STATE?

Sandalwood and Frankincense specifically have been sought after since ancient times. Sandalwood has been used for over four thousand years and is the most popular selection used by most Buddhists, who have burned sandalwood in monasteries and temples for centuries. The warm, rich and woody scent of rare and precious sandalwood promotes relaxation, openness and grounding, as well as having special calming effects on the mind.  Frankincense is another classic incense ingredient, which has been used for thousands of years in many different cultures. It has a calming effect on the nervous system as it contains certain phytochemicals affecting the cerebral cortex and limbic systems which are responsible for our emotions. Frankincense is considered a rare wood, as few environments on earth yield the climate these trees would find appropriate for its growth, therefore it has been traded on par with gold for centuries
